Two Arab countries became the main buyers of Ukrainian chicken in January-March
Ukraine in the first quarter of 2020 exported poultry meat by 136.4 million dollars, which is 7% less than the same period last year (146.8 million dollars). This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service.
Two Arab countries - the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia - became the main buyers of Ukrainian chicken in January-March, also among the main consumers is Netherlands - these three states accounted for more than 50% of exports. At the same time, in January-March, chicken import to Ukraine decreased by 29% to $ 8.7 million, while in January-March 2019 it reached $ 12.3 million. Poland was the main suppliers of these products to Ukraine (52 %) and Hungary (27%).
The export of eggs for three months amounted to $ 22.8 million and dipped 35% compared to the same period in 2019. The main buyer was the UAE (36% of all exports). In January-March, imports of these products amounted to $ 2.1 million, which is 65% less than in the three months of last year ($ 6.1 million).
Basically, Ukraine imported eggs from Hungary (32% of all supplies) and Poland (25%). The external supplies of pork for three months of 2020 increased 2.5 times - up to 1.8 million dollars (700 thousand dollars in January-March 2019). More than 80% of all Ukrainian exports accounted for the UAE market.
