The EU requires investigations into the torture of Ukrainian hostages in the ORDLO

The European Union demands to investigate reports of torture and ill-treatment of Ukrainian hostages

The EU calls on Russia to use its significant influx on controlled militants to peacefully resolve the conflict in the Donbas.

The European Union demands to investigate reports of torture and ill-treatment of Ukrainian hostages in occupied Donbass.

This is stated in a statement by a spokesman for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy at the European External Relations Service, Peter Stano, which is at the disposal of UNIAN.

In particular, the EU noted that the latest report by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights confirms that the practice of arbitrary detention, torture and ill-treatment of people arrested in connection with the conflict in eastern Ukraine is continuing.

"All parties must abide by their obligations under international human rights and humanitarian law," the statement said.
