Survey: Iranians want to improve ties with Arab and Western countries

These data were published as a result of a survey conducted by Zogby Research Services

More than half of Iranians are dissatisfied with their government’s regional interference in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. These data were published as a result of a survey conducted by Zogby Research Services (AAMS).

When it comes to the civil war in Syria, only 24 percent of those polled said they saw it as important for their government to be involved compared to 90 percent two years ago.

“Iranians also told us that they wanted their government to focus on improving relations with Arab governments (60%) and with the US and the West (59%). Way down on their list of priorities was support for their government’s continuing involvement in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen,” said James Zogby, President of Arab American Institute in a blog posted on the Huffington Post.

Regarding Iran’s relations with its Arab neighbors, 60 percent want their government to have better relations with Middle Eastern countries while 59 percent said they would like to see an improvement with the West.
