Some Polish lawmakers conservative parties mulling visit to Crimea
Kiev/ Ukraine in Arabic/ Some Polish lawmakers from the Real Politics Union, the Freedom and Lawfulness conservative party, as well as the Congress of the New Right, who recognize the Russian occupation of the с irrespective of Poland's official position, have expressed support for a recent visit of French MPs to the peninsula and are mulling the possibility of their own visit there, the three parties' founder and leader, MEP Janusz Korwin-Mikke told Russian newspaper Izvestia.
"I think the visit of French MPs to Crimea was the right step, as it demonstrates the recognition of the current legal status of Crimea because the peninsula in fact became part of the Russian Federation. I am for such a trip and will try to go there, but, unfortunately, I will be busy with my election campaign until October 25," Korwin-Mikke said.
The politician announced his plans to discuss with members of his parties a possible visit to Crimea after the election campaign is over.
The official Warsaw is reported to have repeatedly expressed support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and condemned Russia's occupation of Crimea.
Following the example of their French counterparts, German lawmakers from the left-wing Die Linke party and several Italian MPs from the populist and anti-establishment Five Star Movement also expressed their wish to visit the annexed Crimea. Later, the German MPs denied the reports about their plans as for the visit.
