Report: about 2 bln Ukrainian agricultural exports to EU
The corresponding official data are published in the EU's report on agricultural trade with third countries, released on the European Commission's website.
“The value of August 2019 EU agri-food imports compared to August 2018 increased most from Ukraine (+ EUR 198 million, +50%), Brazil (+94, +10%) and Canada (+74, +57%)... Ukraine and USA account for most of EU agri-food import growth for the year 12-month period from September 2018 to August 2019.
The most important origins for EU agri-food imports over the past 12 months (EUR billion) were the USA (12.4), Brazil (11.8), Ukraine (7.0) followed by China (6.1) and Argentina (5.2),” reads the statistical review.
In the overall statistics on EU trade in agricultural products with third countries, Ukraine ranked 16th as a consumer of European imports with a value of EUR 2.278 billion from September 2018 to August 2019 (an increase of EUR 295 million compared to last year) and 3rd in terms of exports to the EU to the tune of EUR 6.089 billion over the same period (an increase of EUR 1.921 billion compared to the corresponding period of 2017-18).
