Prystaiko: Ukraine seeks to deepen integration with EU
Ukraine seeks to deepen differentiation and sectoral integration with the European Union in the modernization of the Association Agreement with the EU, Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko has said.
He said this during events marking the tenth anniversary of the Eastern Partnership initiative in Stockholm on Tuesday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
"In his speech at the ministerial conference on further development, Minister Prystaiko stressed that Ukraine and other associated partners seek to gain EU membership prospects and ensure the deepening of differentiation, which should be determined by the ambitions of partners. He noted that Ukraine is seeking deeper sectoral integration with the EU. In this context, Prystaiko emphasized Ukraine's interest in revising and modernizing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and the terms of the DCFTA," the report reads.
At the same time, Prystaiko specified on his Twitter account that Ukraine hopes to deepen differentiation and sectoral integration with the EU in trade, transport, digital economy and especially in the energy and security sectors.
In addition, the foreign ministers of the participating countries emphasized the importance and effectiveness of the implementation of the Eastern Partnership initiative for the countries of the region, summarized and identified the achievements, and outlined areas in which this policy should develop in the future.
