Polish President: we supports the return of all Ukrainian territories occupied
"We support Ukraine's European ambitions, we support Ukraine that was attacked and today a part of its territory is not under its control. We firmly demand that these territories be returned to Ukraine and that Ukraine restore its borders prior to the annexation [of Crimea]," Polish President Andrzej Duda said on the air of Trwam TV channel and Maryja radio station.
At the same time, he added that there were "certain problems" of historical nature in Ukraine-Poland relations and Poland wanted a dialogue on this matter since political relations at the level of societies of both countries must be based on truth.
"The resumption of exhumation is an important step taken by the new Ukrainian authorities. I am glad as I personally raised this issue in conversation with President Zelensky," Duda stressed.
According to the information, the Ukrainian authorities recently allowed the Polish side to resume search operations in Ukraine which had been suspended after the destruction of the Ukrainian site of commemoration in the village of Hrushovychi near Przemyśl in 2017. The Polish side has already submitted proposals regarding the sites in Ukraine where it wants to search for the remains of Polish victims from the first half of the 20th century.
