The water artery turns a significant part of the emirate into an island The Dubai canal is 3 km long and one of the landmarks of the emirate.
Its path runs through the center of the city, linking the Arabian Gulf through Creek Bay in the Old City with the new business district of Business Bay.
On the banks of the channel are located shopping and entertainment complexes and fashionable hotels, including W Hotel and St Regis.

On the channel regularly run water taxis, which allow tourists to admire the local views.
