Siddi is an African-born predominantly Negroid racial-ethnic group in South Asia, which annually recalls its roots, celebrating the Crocodile Feast.

People gather in the temple of Pir Mango, dancing, enchanting songs surrounded by crocodiles on the outskirts of Karachi.

During the rituals, they use Swahili - a language that has not been used in everyday speech for centuries, but still is something unshakably holy, reminiscent of a distant homeland.

Garlands are put on crocodiles, and also sprinkled with saffron.
