Olena Zelenska visited Minato Health Center in Tokyo
During a working visit of the President of Ukraine to Japan, First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the Minato Public Health Center, which takes care of children and their families and provides medical and social support from the moment of pregnancy until the child reaches the age of majority.
Olena Zelenska met with Minato Mayor Masakai Takei who told about the inclusive infrastructure of the Health Center. He noted that the Center was designed to provide maximum comfort for all visitors and their families, regardless of needs. The center is equipped with voice controls, Braille fonts, special toilets for people with disabilities and for people with little kids. It is also possible to rent a trolley and get to the Center with a guide dog.
Olena Zelenska noted that the health of children, their mothers, future generations of Ukrainians was one of the most important areas of her activity.
"The purpose of such visits is to take on the experience and the best achievements so that certain ideas and initiatives can be implemented in Ukraine. Women's and children's health, disease prevention, early diagnosis, newborn care are my key interests," she said.
The President's wife also expressed an interest in how the state supports initiatives to help mothers and young children and what mechanisms of interaction exist.
The First Lady took part in the excursion at the Center conducted by heads of departments. Olena Zelenska was told about the services provided to pregnant women and women who have recently given birth and the process of monitoring pregnancy. The Center's staff also added that special badges are given to pregnant women in Japan so that others are aware that the woman is pregnant and may need help or support.
