The Ukrainian Embassy in the United States wrote this on its Facebook page.
“The New York Times, an American newspaper, has started to use the correct name for the Ukrainian capital, having changed Kiev to Kyiv,” reads the report.
The Embassy reminded that the U.S. Board on Geographic Names considered the appeal of the Embassy in summer and decided to recognize only one official spelling "Kyiv", as the correct name for the capital of Ukraine. Some famous U.S. publications have already joined the international campaign "Kyiv Not Kiev".
