Iranian Embassy in Ukraine announces readiness to organize “exchange of citizens”
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ukraine reported on the measures that were taken to return Iranian citizens to the republic and vice versa - Ukrainian from Iran to Ukraine.
In particular, the embassy on its resources on the Network talked about communication with the Ukrainian Embassy in Iran to resolve the process:
"1. Starting in the second half of March 2020, after the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, having carried out the necessary coordination with the relevant officials of our state and several Iranian airlines, the Iranian Embassy in all seriousness put on its agenda the issue of organizing a special flight for the return of the citizens of the two countries ", - says a common message.
In addition, diplomats note that they found an airline ready to implement a special flight, but the previous time the attempt failed:
"2. Despite some technical problems and the lack of proper approval of this initiative by a number of Iranian airlines, we finally informed the Ukrainian government of its readiness to carry out a special flight by the Ukrainian airline Bravo Airways to return the citizens of the two countries to their homeland, and having confidence in the guarantees of the Ukrainian authorities , compatriots were informed that the special flight will be carried out on Friday March 27 at 19:00, however, the Ukrainian government for unknown reasons in the last hours of an open flight with Ukraine refused to issue a permit, despite the fact that after the meeting of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the respected Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on March 20, 2020, the Ukrainian side agreed to resolve the issue of the return of citizens of the two countries to their homeland, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed the official a letter to the relevant Ukrainian authorities.
3. After the Ukrinsky Government did not issue permission for a special flight, the Embassy continued to take even larger events for the implementation of a special flight, in particular, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine repeatedly called I.V. Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, negotiated with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Embassy sent an official note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. In addition, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in recent days has invited I.V. Ambassador of Ukraine to the Islamic Republic of Iran and requested the cooperation and assistance of the Government of Ukraine in issuing permission for a special flight for the return of Iranian citizens to Iran.
4. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ukraine is aware of the many difficulties and concerns of compatriots, including students, waiting for their return to their homeland, and assures everyone that this issue is also among the urgent issues on the agenda, and its decisions are monitored daily. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ukraine hopes and expects that, given the good bilateral relations, as well as the international humanitarian responsibility of the countries in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the daily growing concern of Iranian citizens, in particular students living in Ukraine, and their relatives, On the part of respected officials of Ukraine, measures will be taken as soon as possible in order to issue permits for a special flight for the return of citizens of the two countries to their homeland. Of course, the Embassy will promptly report on measures taken to return compatriots to Iran. "
