Foreign Minister of Ukraine meets Secretary General of the Council of Europe

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko and new Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejcinovic Buric have discussed the current situation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko and new Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejcinovic Buric have discussed the current situation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported this following a meeting of Prystaiko with the new Secretary General of the CoE.

"The parties exchanged views on the consequences of the decision, which allowed the unconditional return of the Russian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE in June, and ways to overcome the crisis of confidence," reads the report.

According to the ministry’s press service, Prystaiko has said he hopes for further constructive cooperation with the Council of Europe in the field of ensuring the analysis of national legislation for compliance with European norms and standards.

As Ukrinform reported, the delegation of Ukraine in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe officially refused to attend the autumn session of the organization.
