For four years Ukrainians issued 4.3 million ID-cards

Every holder of a 1994 passport can optionally exchange it

Over four years, the State Migration Service of Ukraine issued more than 4.3 million ID cards  This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Telegram.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that today, every holder of a 1994 passport can optionally exchange it for a new passport card. Every citizen of Ukraine who has reached the age of 14 can also receive an ID-card.

It is reported that in 2016, about 280 thousand ID cards were issued, in 2017 - more than 1.1 million, in 2018 - more than 1.3 million and in 2019 - almost 1.6 million.

Since 2016, Ukraine switched to a biometric internal passport, which has the appearance of a plastic ID-card containing contactless electronic media.
