CoE secretary to visit Ukraine this month
Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejcinovic Buric plans to visit Georgia and Ukraine.
“It will make sense to visit Georgia this month, because the country will take over the chairmanship [in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, After that, I think I will go to Kyiv,” she said at a press conference on Wednesday.
She emphasized that the Council of Europe was ready to help the new leadership of Ukraine in carrying out reforms, but the process should be held in accordance with the international obligations of the state.
The secretary general said that she had sent a letter to the Ukrainian government, in which she expressed readiness to continue and expand assistance in implementing reforms.
She also noted that the dynamics of reforms should comply with the national obligations of Ukraine in the Council of Europe.
