The sanctions list includes six people involved in illegal elections in the annexed Crimea, said Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne.
"Canada imposes sanctions on six people involved in the illegitimate elections held in the Crimea occupied by Russia. Canada invariably supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," he wrote on Twitter.
There, the minister published a scan of the corresponding document. New restrictive measures take effect immediately.
