335 Ukrainians declared as millionaires
Ukrainian citizens in January 2019 declared UAH 3.6 billion, or US$133.8 million, in income received in 2018; of them, there were 335 millionaires as their income exceeded UAH 1 million, or $37,175.
Ukrainians submitted more than 22,000 declarations of assets over the period under review, which was 13% up year-over-year (y-o-y), the State Fiscal Service (SFS) of Ukraine said. A total of UAH 79.7 million, or $3 million, in individual income tax and UAH 13.1 million, or $486,989, in war tax were declared for tax payment, which exceeded the figures of the corresponding period in 2018 by 50% and 31%, respectively.
As reported, a Kyiv resident in January 2019 declared the largest amount, that is over UAH 200 million ($7.4 million) in income. At the same time, two taxpayers from Sumy region declared more than UAH 2.5 million ($92,937) each in income received from sources outside Ukraine.
In particular, citizens declared UAH 628.9 million ($23.4 million) in income received from other taxable income (bank interest, dividends, etc.); UAH 409.6 million ($15.2 million) in other exempt income; UAH 181.9 million ($6.8 million) in revenue from the sale or exchange of movable and immovable property; UAH 98.9 million ($3.7 million) in foreign income; and UAH 78.1 million ($2.9 million) in income from property inheritance (receipt as a gift).
