"This is an absolute lie. I don't even know where such nonsense comes from," Markarova said.
It was earlier reported that Markarova could head the NBU after the approval of the country's state budget for 2020.
Markarova has served as Ukraine's finance minister since June 2018. In August 2019, Markarova remained in office after a new government led by Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk started work.
