Ukrainian community of Jordan celebrated 203 anniversary of Taras Shevchenko
On March 9, 2017 the peculiar event was held in the Embassy of Ukraine, dedicated to the 203rd Anniversary of birth of outstanding Ukrainian poet and public figure Taras Shevchenko
At the begining of the event Ambassador of Ukraine to Jordan Dr. Sergiy Pasko delivered the speech, during which he informed about the life and works of an outstanding son of Ukrainian people poet, writer, artist, prominent public figure, folklorist, ethnographer Taras Shevchenko and path of Kobzar in Jordan.
The Head of Ukrainian Embassy presented gratitudes to participants of the 7th 7th International linguistic and literary competition of pupils and students named after Taras Shevchenko.
During the event students of Ukrainian cultural center “Ukrainian House in Jordan” and representatives of Ukrainian community read out poems and sang song of Taras Shevchenko in Ukrainian and in Arabic, as well as performed folk dances.
Ukrainian poetess Victoria Brychkova - Abu Qadoum read the auther poem “Kobzar”, dedicated to Taras Shevchenko.
