The European Union is investing €50 million in the development of Ukrainian river logistics, according to Government Portal.
Ukraine has huge growth potential in river traffic. €50 million is required for sustained growth. Ukraine has already received €20 million from the EU as technical assistance.
Ukraine also agreed to receive a loan of €30 million for the repair of locks, dredging works and logistics facilities along the Dnipro river. If a number of conditions is met, Ukraine will be able to receive the loan from the EU for a period of 30 years at 1% per annum.
