Ukraine in Arabic | Ukraine urged UN to convene an urgent meeting

Russian troops have entered into Ukrainian territory

KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has asked Ukraine's Western partners to convene an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council due to the actions of the Russian Federation in eastern Ukraine.

He said this after a ceremony to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the government of Ukraine and the Ukrainian World Congress on Thursday.

"Under current circumstances, I think it necessary for our Western partners to immediately convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. Russia has significantly increased its military presence on Ukrainian territory, therefore it is also necessary that an emergency meeting be held at the OSCE and the European Union at the level of EU foreign ministers," Yatsenyuk said.

He said that Ukraine was able to cope with Moscow-supported Russian terrorists and mercenaries.

"It's hard for Ukraine to cope with the Russian army and Russia as a nuclear state, which is armed to the teeth, especially because some countries have military contracts with Russia for the supply of weapons used against Ukraine, against the EU and the world," Yatsenyuk said.

Yatsenyuk also asked the Ukrainian World Congress to draw the attention of the governments of countries in Ukraine has large national communities that the country urgently needs assistance. "The situation is extremely difficult," Yatsenyuk said.
