Kiev/ Ukraine in Arabic/ The event was attended by many heads of embassies and other foreign missions accredited in Ukraine, representatives of the clergy, the Azerbaijani Diaspora, the Ukrainian government, politics, business and show business, journalists and many others. From the government of Ukraine the event was attended by First Deputy foreign Minister Natalia galibarenko. The celebration began with a performance of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Ukraine, after which the guests were addressed by Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Eynulla Madatli.
In his welcoming speech the diplomat congratulated all those present on the national holiday, spoke about the difficulties faced by Azerbaijan in the first years of its independence: the aggression of Armenia's territorial claims, the occupation of Azerbaijani territories of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts and other attempts of interested parties to undermine the independence of the country.
