Ukraine in Arabic | A new head of the State Border Service was appointed in Ukraine

Ukrainian leader signed a decree appointing Afghan war participant Viktor Nazarenko as chairman of the State Border Service.

KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has appointed Viktor Nazarenko the new Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, as he said after the meeting on the fight against smuggling in Odesa, according to the President’s press service.

Noteworthy, before the appointment Nazarenko was the Acting Head of the border service.

As Capital reported, on October 7, Poroshenko dismissed Mykola Lytvyn from his post of the Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

Mr. Poroshenko also criticized the leaders of the Southern Customs, the State Fiscal Service and other law enforcement agencies for their poor performance. He said that a lot of smuggled goods illegally crossed the state border due to current criminal schemes. "But I will destroy this cover of smuggling," he said.

As reported, on October 6, Poroshenko dismissed Army General Mykola Lytvyn as head of the State Border Service of Ukraine. He also dismissed his first deputy head and Director of the Department of State Border Protection, Colonel General Pavlo Shysholin.
