The Ukrainian Finance Ministry has confirmed progress in talks with the International Monetary Fund and the adjustment of many parameters of the future program with the IMF.
Finance Minister Oksana Markarova wrote this on her Facebook page.

"IMF colleagues have ended their work in Kyiv and published a statement on the completion of the mission. The Finance Ministry confirms that significant progress has been made and many parameters of the future program have been agreed," she said.

At the same time, she noted that there was nothing about "betrayal" in the IMF mission statement.

"Those who regularly read [IMF] statements have noticed that there is no phrase after 'but.' We are actively moving towards the approval of the program," Markarova said.

The IMF Resident Representative Office in Ukraine said that discussions on the new IMF program would continue in the coming weeks.

The IMF is preparing a three-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine.

The National Bank stated that Ukraine should conclude a new long-term cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund totaling $5-10 billion. According to the NBU forecasts, the first tranche under this program could be received by the end of 2019. The National Bank expects it to be about $2 billion.

The IMF's previous 14-month Stand-By Arrangement for Ukraine was approved at the end of 2018. It provided for the allocation of three tranches. Ukraine received the first and only IMF tranche under this program on December 21, 2018.
