Iran will determine amount of compensation to the victims of the downed UIA plane during the negotiations
The amount of compensation to the families of victims of the crash of a passenger plane of Ukraine International Airlines will depend on the agreements reached between Iran and Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukrinform agency.
"The amount of compensation to the families of victims of the Ukrainian plane crash will depend on the settlement between Iran and Ukraine," said Hassan Rezayefar, representative of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization.
He added that the plane was insured by a Ukrainian company, insurance covers the plane, passengers, things on board.
According to him, insurers usually pay compensation in such cases, but given the fact that the accident was not typical, the two states should all settle bilaterally.
