Among the Honorary Guests who joined the event were the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Egypt Mr. Amr Ramadan and Chairman of the Egyptian-Ukrainian Friendship Group in the Parliament of Egypt Mr. Ahmed El Segini.

High-level officials from Egyptian ministries and state agencies as well as diplomats, business representatives, leading media journalists and the members of the Ukrainian community in Egypt attended the reception.

In his welcoming speech, H. E. Ambassador of Ukraine Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko emphasized the importance of the meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and Egypt on September 25, 2019, in New York on the sidelines of the 74th UNGA Session.

The Ambassador told that during the 8 months of this year, the two countries have already achieved a significant trade turnover surpassing 1.5 billion US dollars. As H. E. Yevhen Mykytenko noticed this sounds promising but is still a bit far from both sides’ ambitions and potential.

The Ambassador also noted that Ukraine ranks second in the number of tourists coming to Egypt.

The number of Ukrainians who visited this country last year exceeded 1.2 million.

The performance of the Ukrainian musical ensemble “Dzherela” accompanied the reception and entertained the guests. The artists opened the official ceremony with the National Anthem of Ukraine and performed the National Anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Arabic language.
