Kiev/ Ukraine in Arabic/ Ukraine is initiating a meeting of the UN Security Council on June 5, which will cover a recent attack by Russian-backed militants on Ukrainian troops near the town of Maryinka in Donetsk region.
"Important! Ukraine is initiating a UN Security Council meeting tomorrow on yesterday's attack on Maryinka and the impudent violation by Russian-backed militants of the Minsk agreements," Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, Ambassador Yuriy Sergeyev wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, combined Russian-separatist forces early on June 3 launched a massive attack on Ukrainian troops near the town of Maryinka in Donetsk region, which later developed in an advance.
Four Ukrainian soldiers were killed near Maryinka alone on June 3, according to Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Yuriy Biryukov's update as of Thursday morning. Thirty-nine Ukrainian soldiers were wounded, he wrote on Facebook.
