Ukraine in Arabic | The head of IMF named main conditions of providing financial help to Ukraine
Kiev/Ukraine in Arabic/ Fund is ready to provide Ukraine with more money, but on condition of more stabilized situation in country.
International Monetary Fund has sent financial support to Ukraine only on condition of more stabilized situation in Ukraine. About that has said chief of Fund Christine Lagarde in her interview to French newspaper “Le Monde”.
According to her words, while giving financial support in spring of 2014 experts of IMF thought that conflict on the East of country will end till winter. “Now we work on another variants, in particular, lengthening on four years terms of Ukraine on carrying out reforms”, specified Lgarde.
She noted that extend of funding “probably will be a little higher than it was expected”, but it will not depend on military and political factors. Lagarde marked, that all actions of IMF assume stabilization of situation in Ukraine. “That is priority. Connection between economic and military situation is absolutely evident”, the chief of Fund have said.
On 21 of January Minister of Finance in Ukraine Natalie Jaresko during the Davos Forum noted that international community provide Kiev with “tiny sum” in comparison with the one that Greece get. According to her summing up the country needs 15 billion dollars. She also has said that Ukraine is “a good borrower”.
On 12 of January president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said, that he hope to receive help for Kiev in amount 13-15 billion dollars in 2015-2016 from USA, Canada, Japan, European Union, and also from IMF and World Bank.
In 2014 European Union gave to Ukreaine 1,36 billion EUR. Next tranche of help from EU (250 mil EUR) is expected in spring of 2015. Moreover, on 30th of April 2014 IMF approved program of stabilization Stand by for Kiev in total 17 billion dollars for two years.4,55 billion of this amount were transferred in last year.
