Ukraine in Arabic | Russian humanitarian aid is checking by Ukrainian borders guards at Donetsk custom

The fears the convoy may carry military supplies for the rebels, an accusation Russia has rejected. Ukrainian authorities said the cargo, bound for cities in eastern Ukraine held by pro-Russian rebels, was being checked.

KYIV/Ukraine in arabic/ Ukrainian border guards and customs officers are checking Russian humanitarian aid at the Donetsk checkpoint in the Rostov region on the Russian-Ukrainian border, the press center of the army operation in eastern Ukraine said.

"Customs control and clearance of the humanitarian cargo from that country began at the Donetsk checkpoint at 1000. Fifty-nine Ukrainian specialists are participating in the inspection, among them 41 representatives of the Ukrainian State Border Service and 18 customs officers. According to a preliminary agreement, the cargo will be routed to Luhansk," the press center said in a report posted on Facebook.

Recall that on Thursday, Russian army vehicles were seen heading into Ukraine, into rebel-held territory. Ukrainian security officials said that they had spotted a column of armored vehicles crossing into Ukraine.

Russia's government has consistently denied directly arming or training the rebels, who sparked the conflict in April when they took control of several cities in eastern Ukraine. The conflict, which has claimed more than 2,000 lives, has intensified in recent weeks. On Thursday, there was heavy shelling in the rebel stronghold cities of Donetsk and Luhansk.
