The contents of the trucks are currently being unloaded into warehouses

KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ The column of trucks with the fourth batch of Russian humanitarian aid to residents of Ukraine's Donbass passed customs control procedures without any problems on Friday morning, October 31. The convoy traveled through the territory of Ukraine before it finally arrived to Luhansk and Donetsk. The convoy of about 100 trucks of the Russian EMERCOM, carrying about 1,000 tons of humanitarian cargo, divided into two parts after crossing the border.

According to preliminary information, bout 50 trucks arrived in Luhansk. The trucks brought food and construction materials. The contents of the trucks are currently being unloaded into warehouses.

On Monday, the day before the trucks departed for Ukraine, the Russian government announced it was discussing a request for humanitarian aid received from the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics. The request said that the region was on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe.

Russia previously sent three convoys to Donbas that carried about 6,000 tons of humanitarian cargo to the region, which endured months of violent clashes between the Ukrainian government and pro-independence forces. The conflict has left many citizens struggling without clean water, electricity and other essentials.

This is a fourth Russian humanitarian convoy for Ukraine’s southeast. The first three brought to Donetsk and Lugansk a total of 6,000 tons of foods, including cereals and canned foods, and also medical supplies, electricity generators, warm clothing, and bottled drinking water.
