The hearing on former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's treason case on its merits has been adjourned until 10:00 on Thursday, June 29.

The relevant decision was made by the judicial panel of Kyiv's Obolonskiy district court, according to an correspondents. Yanukovych's lawyers opposed the petition of state prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko on the application of special judicial proceedings (in absentia) in the case.

After that, having discussed in the courtroom, the judges decided to adjourn the hearing until June 29 due to the fact that the Criminal Procedure Code requires two absences of the accused in court without good reason so that the court could decide on the application of a special trial.
