The fastest police cars appear in UAE fleet
Dubai, which is famous for luxury shopping, can now boast of the world's fastest police car in its police patrol fleet. With the addition of the Bugatti Veyron, to its police fleet, Dubai police now has the world's fastest police patrol.
Veyron is, however, not the only high-speed car in the Dubai police patrol fleet with the likes of McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari FF, Mercedes SLS AMG, Roush Mustang, Bentley Continental GT, Audi R8 V01 Plus, Nissan GTR also in the fleet.
The sports car carries a princely price-tag of Rs 10.5 crore and can rack up a top speed of 407 km per hour. The car has a 16-cylinder engine that can deliver 1,000 horsepower and can reach a speed of 0-97 km per hour in just 2.5 seconds, according NDTV.
Dubai police's Lt Saif Sultan Rashed Al Shamsi told Gulf News, "One of the funny stories we have is that a lot of tourists and people here call the Dubai police...on (the emergency number) 999 to ask about these cars. They want to know which location they will be in and how they can find them and take pictures with them."
According to commentators, Dubai generates vast amounts of revenue from tourism, and the fancy cars were also a part of attracting more tourists' attention.
The supercar of the Dubai Police beats the US police patrol's, Lamborghini which can reach a maximum speed of 360 kmph.
