"Sea Breeze" 2019 militaristic Exercises Begin in Odessa
Sea Breeze 2019 has kicked off in Odessa. The large scale military exercise began with an opening ceremony where the flags of Ukraine, the United States, Georgia and Moldova were raised.
The multi-national naval and ground exercises involve soldiers from 19 countries.
A total of 19 countries are participating with a total of more than 3,000 soldiers, 28 warships and 27 aircraft. The countries are:Ukraine, the United States, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Greece, Georgia, Denmark, Italy, Latvia, Estonia, Canada, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Romania, Poland, France, Turkey and Sweden.
The exercises are being held to NATO standards of which both Ukraine and Georgia aspire to join. The other non-NATO participants are Sweden and Moldova.
Sea Breeze exercises have been held in Ukraine since 1997.
