The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) put a new UAH 1,000 banknote into circulation from October 25. The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) put a new UAH 1,000 banknote into circulation from October 25.
As of Friday, October 25, 2019, new banknotes are required to be accepted as a means of payment. This is the largest denomination banknote in Ukraine.
The front side of the banknote carries a portrait of founder and first president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Vernadsky.
On the other side of the bill, there is an image of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
