New underwater Guinness record was registrated in UAE

Stu played music, conducted interviews and talked to his listeners
Atlantis, The Palm resort in Dubai, UAE launched their ‘A World Away From Your Everyday’ campaign by organisation a Guinness World Records title in the Atlantis Ambassador Lagoon aquarium.

Partnering up with 104.8 Channel 4, radio presenter Stu Tolan was invited to submerge himself three metres down into the 11 million litre tank and host the world’s Longest underwater live radio broadcast (unsupported).
Stu played music, conducted interviews and talked to his listeners while surrounded by 65,000 marine animals, sharks and sting rays.

The challenge required a lot of technical planning. For example, a team of six professional scuba divers from The Lost Chambers Aquarium had to make 11 air tank changes during Stu's broadcast.

The seamlessly organised show even had a number of special guests, including Michael Rutzen the renowned South African conservationist, film maker, cage diving operator and shark enthusiast.
Hotel guests joined official Guinness World Records adjudicator Samer Khallouf on the viewing deck, from which he judged the attempt.

The Channel 4 radio host concluded the underwater broadcast after an incredible 5 hours, 25 minutes and 25 seconds – successfully breaking the previous record by almost an hour.
