Kyivstar welcomed Ukrainians "in Palestine" when they landed at Ben Gurion Airport
One of the largest mobile operators in Ukraine, Kyivstar, sent messages to passengers, welcoming them as in Palestine, when they landed at the Israeli Ben-Gurion international airport.
Israeli media immediately picked up the news, beginning to interview passengers. In particular, one of the women said that she had received a message on her smartphone in Ukrainian: “Welcome to Palestine”.
She noted that the company is large and "famous."
Ilana Waldman Eshkol, director of organizational development for the right-wing Zionist organization ImTirtzu, said that "leading telecommunication companies in Ukraine are taking steps which expressing an unacceptable political position".
In her opinion, this act is similar to that if the Israeli mobile operators would greet “Welcome to Russia” passengers during a landing in Kiev.
The company itself has not yet commented on what happened.
