Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a one-on-one meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a one-on-one meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to hold separate meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French leader Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the sidelines of the Normandy Four summit in Paris on December 9," he told journalists on Friday, according to Russian news agency TASS.

Peskov pointed out the Kremlin expected the Normandy Four summit to help resolve the situation in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

"Putin's attitude is serious, the only expectation is to facilitate efforts to resolve the 'domestic' conflict in 'southeastern' Ukraine, ensure a common understanding that there is no alternative to implementing the Minsk Agreements and prevent attempts to dilute them," the Russian presidential spokesman said. As UNIAN reported earlier, the leaders of the Normandy Four states – Ukraine, France, Germany, and Russia – are scheduled to meet in Paris, France, on December 9.
