France condemns Putin's decree on land ownership in occupied Crimea

Such measures as the compulsory call and the ban on foreigners to own land in Crimea

France has condemned the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to which persons without Russian citizenship are forbidden to own land in occupied Crimea.
This was stated by the French Embassy in Ukraine on Twitter.

"France unconditionally condemns Presidential Decree No. 201 of March 20, 2020, which prohibits stateless persons from owning land in much of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol," the statement reads.

According to the diplomatic mission, such measures as the compulsory call and the ban on foreigners to own land in Crimea, taken by the Russian authorities with a few days difference, perfectly illustrate the strategy of forced integration that Russia implements in Crimea and which completely contradicts the rules of international law.

The embassy stressed that after six years of illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia, France maintains a firm commitment to the full restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
