“This office will help Ukrainians who want to visit Italy and tour operators. It will also house our 30-person call center to keep us closer to our passengers,” said Ernest Airlines President Chady El Tannir during the opening ceremony in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He added that Ernest Airlines planned to open its base at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport in April 2020.

Deputy Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Oleksandra Klitina and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine Davide La Cecilia also participated in the opening ceremony.

"Today's opening marks a crucial moment in the consolidation of this significant Italian investment in Ukraine, once again establishing it as a country of numerous opportunities and great potential, especially for young and dynamic people," the ambassador said.

In turn, Klitina added that the Ministry of Infrastructure intended to provide comprehensive support to the company in its development in the Ukrainian market and would help to increase the size of Italian investments attracted in the Ukrainian aviation industry.

Ernest Airlines entered the Ukrainian market in October 2017. Currently, the Italian low-cost carrier operates flights on 40 routes between Italy and Ukraine from four Ukrainian cities: Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv and Odesa.
