At least 23 people have been killed and dozens are believed to be injured following the explosions near the offices of the parliament in Kabul.
A suicide bomber reportedly blew himself up, followed immediately afterwards by a car bomber, in what authorities say seems to have been a coordinated operation.
The Afghan Taliban has claimed the attacks. It has been battling to overthrow the country’s western-backed government and to drive out foreign troops.
It follows a period of relative calm in Kabul.
