Iran is ready to pay compensation to the families of those killed in the plane crash. Eugene Yenin, Deputy Foreign Minister, spoke about the talks with the Iranian side.
The first round of talks took place. The diplomat reported about it on August 3 on air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
The Iranian side repeatedly received notes in January with the date and place of the talks. Tehran has reaffirmed its readiness to comply with all international obligations of international conventions. These are international documents - the Chicago Convention and the Montreal Convention.
A number of problematic issues were discussed at the highest level. The parties agreed on a list of provisions that allowed to establish the necessary points for implementation.
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) crashed near Tehran in January. The attack killed 176 people. Authorities did not confirm the information about the attack, but later the military admitted to launching missiles that hit the plane.
