Since the beginning of the declared “harvest ceasefire” in eastern Ukraine, six Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and nine more have been wounded.
“Since July 21, six servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been killed and another nine have been wounded in the area of conduct of the Joint Forces Operation,” Head of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Four servicemen have been killed this month. “It was a shot from a grenade launcher with an 82mm mortar tied to it which hit the trench, where Ukrainian soldiers were carrying out engineering works," Khomchak said.
Ukrainian forces were ready to respond, but our intelligence reported that the enemy had left his positions after the shelling, he added.
