KYIV/Ukraine in Arabic/ Three people were killed in Sanaa on Wednesday after a suicide bomber drove a car filled with explosives into the residence of the Iranian ambassador to Yemen, officials said. Paramedics rushed to the area to attend to the casualties after the blast, which ripped a hole through the building.

The identity of the suicide bomber is unknown, but Shi’ite militants backed by Iran took over Sanaa in September, and have been clashing with Sunnis and al-Qaeda in Yemen as they try to extend their control.

The attack, the second such bombing in the city in as many months, punched a large hole in the building and sent rubble flying across the street of the well-guarded diplomatic quarter of the city.
